Worn out streets,
line my way.
Walk straight on,
so close to home.
Today feels different,
I hold my breath:
Murmurs through
the thin white walls.
Oh, oh, oh.....
In regard of the strange
intimacy they have maintained,
and kept for themselves,
I'll never find out
unless I leave from here.
I stare in awe,
petrified.
And malcontent,
so close to them.
But I can't banish
jealousy.
Unable to react.
I stay where I am.
Those worn out streets,
they outlast time.
But the murmurs silenced.
Through the walls
I can hear nothing.
Even if
I hold my breath,
Confusion is
all that's left.
And alienation.
I'm sure they've left/gone
